AbstractHigh speed and high agility weapons operate in a complex environment that jeopardizes the stability of traditional flight control designs. The goal of this paper is to assess robust and adaptive control to address flight control risks with airframe uncertainties and disturbances for high-speed platforms. In this presentation we show how to: augment linear control (baseline) with model reference adaptive control (MRAC), i.e. robust and adaptive control, explore restoration of baseline control performance with parameterized uncertainties, use physics-based analysis of weapon trajectory to more accurately model uncertainties, and assess robust and adaptive control with physics-based uncertainties
