Abstract	The safe integration of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) into the National Airspace System (NAS) poses a unique challenge for both regulators and operators. This briefing will provide an update on FAA and joint activities supporting the development of UAS regulatory standards and policy, and explore current UAS operations in the NAS. Topics will include FAA research programs, small UAS rulemaking activities, experimental certification of civil UAS, Certificate of Authorization or Waiver (COA) operations of public UAS, international collaboration, technology exploration and development, standards development, and future trends.
