AbstractThe goal of the Advanced Anti-radiation Guided Missile (AARGM) Program is to strengthen the Navy’s capability to destroy enemy air defenses (DEAD) through upgrades in technology. AARGM does this through the development of 4 new subsystems that have been integrated into the HARM airframe. The first of which is a completely new anti-radiation homing (ARH) seeker. The ARH is a passive radar sensor similar to HARM’s sensor that provides angle measurements of enemy radar emissions. The second subsystem is a millimeter wave radar that provides refined target positioning for terminal guidance. Thirdly, the system is tied together with a guidance, navigation and control system that provides GPS navigation, geo-specificity and various target prosecution methods. The fourth subsystem is a communications system that can update the missile with mission planning data in addition to provide weapon impact assessments in flight.
