AbstractAurora Flight Sciences has grown since I last presented at the ACGSC – we are now peeking above the 500 employee mark, and our product efforts are gaining steam, with various deployments of the Skate backpackable UAS, sale of a Centaur Optionally-Piloted Aircraft (OPA) to Armasuisse in Switzerland, and several flights of the Orion Medium Altitude Long Endurance, preparing for a 120-hour flight demonstration. Aurora is also participating in three DARPA programs (TERN, VTOL-Xplane, and ADAPT), with more one the way. Finally, Aurora is funded by ONR to develop a retrofit system to add perception-based autonomy to unmanned cargo helicopters, in the AACUS program.
